I ask again, seriously.
Can any of the bashers explain what in my original post ‘1 more baby shark and We’re gunna SCREAM!’ was offensive in any way.
Can you guys really read it and reply with honesty?
Lets hear it, if not, maybe just apologize?

raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa hahahahahahahaha ... now you're asking for too much, Glenn .... an explaination AND an apology .... wow - that's rich, brother ... good luck with that one ...
Look, with all due respect - now you’re the one not reading … “What offended you …” - that’s easy - (1) “you’re not from around here” and (2) “you fish funny” … do you get it now!!!
Remember, there are certain people here who think we can’t catch fish - much less even be allowed to wander onto the “sacred fishing grounds of their Moultrie forefathers” …
I had one guy actually send me GPS coordinates to a fish market in Mr. Pleasant (and not a very good one at that) … I sent him GPS coordinates to Death Valley, California; Shiot Creek, Idaho; and Hell, Michigan …
Bottom line … like I said - about 90% of these guys are fine insofar as they’ll not raz you and act like children … but these same 90% also won’t tell the other 10% to grow up either (there are a select few who will “try” to redirect the others, but that’s about it) … as for the other 10% … someone (from the South) once said, “you can’t fix stupid” … so take that saying for all it’s worth … there’s no point in trying to have a logical conversation with people who are illogical …

It appears that this forum, or at least the Inshore Group, has lost it’s purpose …
Question: Why would anyone join an online forum? Hands please!!! You, in the back - “To share information” …
You are CORRECT!!! To share information … so why is it that when someone asks for information or interjects information on how they’ve done it in other places … they get lame advice (when in sharks - move … Brilliant advice … “move” … really?) or bashed for being an “outsider” and ridiculed and told to “go back to where you came from” … why is that?
I’ll be patiently awaiting what should be a very well thought out and intellectual response …
Look here, drama queen: I called him a moron because he obviously just needs to leave it alone, not because I give two ****s what he fishes off of. It’s just like your **** awhile back, I can’t for the life of me understand why you kept yapping away if you were so certain that people down here are SO unaccepting of your values (or whatever it is you’re talking about). And what is lame about the given advice to move to a new area if you start catching sharks? That’s exactly what you should do.

it’s not about where you’re from- it’s about how you act
now just be nice and respectful and learn some common courtesy and the nice guys from around here will be glad to show you the ropes.
p.s.
most southern fishermen hate jetskis,we fish to get away from stuff like that.
if you want to be like jetski bryan- take it offshore and go trolling at the georgetown hole.

Just be nice? HOW IIIIIII ACT??
Did you even read the original post and the Bull*** that followed from these nice folks?
I separated the topics thinking it must be a Jet Ski thing,.
It’s not a Jet Ski thing, it’s a hate thing.
There are very few posts even on this Jet Ski topic about Jet Ski’s.
Most posts are “listen here Yankee boy”
I’ve asked this several times in here;
I wish just ONE of you bashers could tell me where in my post I was offensive.</font id=“blue”></font id=“size4”>
Not ONE Answer?
Why?

I don’t really have a dog in this fight but from my perspective, you were not necessarily offensive. With that being said, you asked if jet skis were “valid” (still not sure what that means) and when you got less than favorable answers, seemed to not like those answers. You then mentioned your prowess as a fisherman (“I had the NY record for large mouth bass when I was younger, Took 2nd place in the Hawaiian Intl Billfish Tourney a couple years ago. basically, I can fish…” Not sure what that had to do with your original question. You then questioned poster’s reading comprehension abilities (not a good way to make friends as the new guy).
There may be some folks here that will never accept “Yankees” down here for whatever reason. Me, I take a wait and see attitude. If you come here, keep your mouth shut as far as telling us what all is wrong with SC, listen, learn and make friends then I do not have a problem with you. You are probably a far more accomplished fisherman than me but I do know this, when you ask for people’s opinion you have to be prepared for some answers you may not like. At this point, it may be best to let sleeping dogs lie (let this thread die), chalk it up as a learning experience and just go fishing…on your jet ski if you like. Just don’t be surprised if some here do not embrace your mode of fishing. Good luck and tight lines.

Now why can’t I say things like that??? I guess I just lack the art of Southern Subtlety … DFreedom is one of the 90% of the good guys … I think it’s best to take his advice, NYallKer, and just let it go …
it’s my Wife’s fault we HAVE to fish now!!!

here’s my take (simply an opinion, since you’ve requested them):
the original post contained neither “please” nor “thank you”. in fact, the only time in 24 posts that i’ve seen either phrase, it was dripping with sarcasm, only to be followed by the complaint that you weren’t being greeted properly. some of your posts have indicated that you have a good sense of humor, and i think that was the only thing that kept lawcrusher’s head from exploding after 7 pages of “not getting it” a while ago. you should’ve seen the CF.com ribbing dealt to the guy who wanted advice on how to rig an inflatable raft with a trolling motor for saltwater last year! you mentioned “time and patience” for figuring out the fish, so i’ll use that as a segue…
my four step plan for getting back to the root of these shenanigans (melange-a-trois: you, a wet crotch rocket, and a subadult redfish):
#1: read these- your fishing license dollars at work. http://www.dnr.sc.gov/marine/species/reddrum.html http://www.dnr.sc.gov/marine/mrri/pubs/yr2007/reddrum07.pdf http://www.dnr.sc.gov/marine/mrri/insh_fish/publications.html
#2: buy things from a locally-owned tackle shop and ask the questions that popped up while you were reading the aforementioned. there are guys who will talk your ear off about how to catch fish. you’ve done this once- do it some more.
#3: join a fishing club. there are a lot of folks on this website who have gained those crucial bits of knowledge to fit into the fish catching puzzle this way. also a good way to find fishing buddies… they might even have their own PWCs.
#4: hire a guide- redfish are a large part of our local economy. if you possess the general experience, you just need the context to interpret the lessons available to you at the tip of a rod.

I wasn’t talking to you. This isn’t about you. If you read my posts, you will see that you are stepping all over your crank here. Every post I made to the OP was essentially supportive, right up until I reached my frustration level. He’s new. And like any new arrival to any community, he needs to learn the basics before becoming combative or thin skinned.
Speaking of ignorance, a quick review of the definition for your sake:
Obtuse: Adjective. Annoyingly insensitive or slow to understand.
To review, since you obviously opened your mouth before taking the time to read my posts, OP wondered why he was not being “treated as a person and not as a location”. I pointed out that he was in the South, and his username moved him from “just a person” to a geographical location affiliate. To clear it up for you and him, I specifically meant a geographical location that was (1) not the South and (2) looked upon with at the very least some apprehension. Add to that his question about fishing from a ski, then starting a debate regarding fishing from skis, and he was bound to receive some push back.
I didn’t slam him. I posted a smiley at the end of my post. I gave him every opportunity to understand that his username combined with a provocative post triggered the replies. If you read my post, I also said he was probably one of the good guys and welcomed him to the forum.
Okay, here is the obtuse part. Watch closely. His response to me was “Not to continue the point, but isn’t JimIslander a geographic reference?” WTF?
I’m not the one complaining about not being treated as just “a person”. And my “geographic reference” says “I love James Island. I live on James Island. I’m a James Islander.” It says I love the Lowcountry and am so committed to it that I associate my very na

Dude, go back go to school. Finish your undergrad. Take a class on debate, reading comprehension, and etiquette. Read How to Make Friends and Influence People. Then come back here and act right.
Based on our limited exchange, I believe the reason you got hassled on this forum is not because “you aint from around here”. It’s due to your poor reading comprehension, lack of logic and reason, aggressive behavior, bigotry, and general poor writing skills.
