Jigging Breach Inlet bridge

So this post is super late about two weeks. Went to Breach to fish off the bridge to change things up a bit and see if I could hookup some more BSB. Threw a Carolina rig with some shrimp into the same spot as before and had a bunch of pinfish, a half a dozen Croaker, one small whiting and a huge Oyster Toad, his head was about 5 inches across. No BSB . After the tide started going out I decided to rig up a sabiki onto my 12ft Daiwa that I had repaired one: to test the repair and two: to try jigging for Spanish. Well after about 20 min of jigging I noticed a silver flash in the water every time I pushed the rod handle down and at first I thought it was the rig. I though to my self “gee, this rig does look like baitfish zipping through the water” then I took a second look and though that it looked awful large for the tiny little hooks and skirts on the line so I reeled it in. Ended up with this guy on and I didn’t even feel him hit so it made me wonder how long he was on until I noticed. It gives me hope that there are larger ones coming through. He was released and swam away no problem.

Pretty cool day Walkman, glad to see you out and posting. Welcome back Sir:smiley:

Back when you could fish on the roadway we used to drift minnows on the outgoing tide with no weight and catch them

We still do that off bridge

Had no idea you could jig off that bridge… May have to give it a go.
