Sometimes you can’t find a full crew or you want to try some new things…well that is what these trips are about. Fishing my 25’ Contender with a limited load out of Hilton Head, SC with some of the best gear money can buy. I will periodically post these trips when the weather looks just right. I am a fully licensed/insured charter operation that specializes in artificial baits typically via jigging/popping. I will often leave the dock without so much as a box of squid. I just take what the ocean will give me. I do NOT troll in the traditional sense so please don’t book me if that is your thing.
Well this is the time and weather we have been waiting for. The tuna are still here, grouper opens in 2 days and there are mahi everywhere. We will likely be putting in 200 miles round trip on these trips, fishing anywhere from 100’ out to 1000’.
I am booking Sunday, Monday and maybe Tuesday(May 4-6) right now and the weather looks perfect(don’t jinx me). These will be go where the weather allows trips and fish just about every way for everything. Cast along weedlines for mahi, drop bait or jigs in 200’+ for grouper, topwater baits and poppers for tuna and AJ’s till your arms fall off. Basically, take an opportunistic look at what Mother Nature is offering you and have a fun day doing it. If you are hung up on “meat fishing” don’t come. We will not be anchored up chicken rigging on these trips, we can schedule those separately.
Trips are $300 per person if you bring tackle, add $50 per person if you want to use my Stella’s and Saltiga’s with a mix of Jigging Master and Black Hole rods. Limited load of 3 anglers per trip.
If you want to book the boat it is $1000 per day and you can bring a 4th. person at no extra charge. Equipment charge is additional $100 for booked boat.

I like your style. Sounds like a pretty interesting venture and I am sure is a great change from the traditional trolling thing. I’m getting on that boat with you sometime soon!

My T-Top might be too low for you. You are the only person I know that does not have rigger lanyards on the gunnels!

I changed that this year! My suggestion box was full of that specific request. They now come down to the gunnels for the tiny people. And by "tiny" I mean anyone under 6'6"...
Due to a last minute trip cancellation this week is wide open. The forecast is 5-10 kts all week. Since the cobia have showed in full force that is what I’ll target. These will be about 6-8 hour trips depending on tides and bait. Everything included for $200 per person. Max of 3 people.
We can turn these into 8 hour reef trips with a pit stop for cobia at $250 each and add some triggers, sea bass and other bottom critters as well.
Full day, whatever you want trips for up to 4 for $1000. Let’s go!
We do pay the price here in the form of long runs. Yet, a holiday weekend with 30mph cruise speed conditions and we saw 2 boats all day and they were from a distance. We worked a ledge for about 1.5 miles, unhindered. Current with the wind made it difficult to hold bottom but with drop and reel fishing all day, who cares.
?
It was definitely Tuan’s day as the #40(boga verified) Gag was on the first drop. It rocked him up and he opened the bail, let him come out of the hole then finished the job. He backed that up with a #50 AJ and switched to lighter tackle and started on the big triggers.?
?
Jeff finally pulled out the only tuna, on the jig no less, as we tried in vain to get them to the surface. It was the second to last drift and I smelled the bait ball which is a sure sign of tuna in the area, the tuna came just after.?
?
Bill wrestled with demons in the form of lost jigs to cuda’s, lost fish to sharks and just a general bent rod all day long. He usually fishes the front of the boat and I don’t pay him much mind until the fish is boat side, low maintenance for sure.?
?
Most bigger fish were Boga’d so we had some real weights. Everyone got a fish right at #50.

We do have an awesome fishery here, you just have to take what the ocean gives you!
Special thanks to Jeff for hooking me and my son up!
