Good one

My guess is Stoops from Kentucky.

Moglia…is that the cat vs dog guy? Pretty funny.

“Apathy is the Glove into Which Evil Slips It’s Hand”, but really, who cares?

Why wouldn’t you want Moglia? The guy is a PROVEN winner who would represent the school and community in a manner you could be proud of. His biggest assets are more than just defensive X’s and O’s. He is SMART when it comes to fundraising and setting and reaching goals.

He’s been successful in everything he’s been associated with.

Joe Moglia enters his fourth season as the Coastal Carolina head coach/executive director for football and second as the Chair of the Coastal Carolina athletic division, serving as the leader for Chanticleer athletics.

Moglia has been a national coach of the year finalists in each of his first three seasons — finishing runner-up in 2014, the Big South Coach of the Year twice and the American Football Coaches Association Region 2 Coach of the Year once.

He is the real-life inspiration for the Monty Burke book, “4th & Goal: One Man’s Quest to Recapture His Dream,” and garnered national media attention by the likes of Fox News, CNBC, MSNBC, FoxSports.com, ESPN Gameday, ESPN.com Grantland Series, Associated Press, The Sports Network, Yahoo.com, Yahoo!Sports.com, Esquire, USA Today, Wall Street Journal and CNNRadio.com to name a few.

Yes, his story of leaving his first love of coaching to enter and later conquer the business world only to return to coaching is interesting. However, what ultimately proved to be the most compelling aspect of the move have been the results.

In his first season, Moglia led Coastal Carolina to an 8-5 record overall, a 5-1 league mark and a share of the 2013 Big South championship. The Chanticleers earned the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division I FCS Championship, directed the program to its first win in the NCAA playoffs and led CCU to a ranking of 24th in both of the final national polls. His second season was even more spectacular. The Chanticleers, ranked as high as #3 during the season, posted a 12-3 record overall and was 4-1 in the Big South to win a seco

He is a millionaire.

He is good at getting people to buy in, he is good at recruiting, he is good at coaching.

People in and around the program at CCU sing his praises constantly.

If you want someone that will outwork and outperform his competition in all respects, he is a proven guy.

He may want a challenge and like the thought of working with more gifted athletes and a lot more money on a bigger stage.

Sorry I did not think you were sincere. I really just thought you were saying USC was going to hire another old coach in his twilight years. I would like to see someone younger that can be there for a long time.

I guess I don’t see him as that old. He acts like he’s in his 40’s.

Coastal Carolina is not even a real school… Might as well hire a local high school coach.

I agree with Phin. Seeing the team during the transition from Coach Bennett to Moglia my last couple years there, the guy knows how to win. Was a little skeptical at first when seeing the hire, but now I see why they went after him. He brings a little of his business approach to football, which sounds crazy, but it seems to be working. The team plays much harder and is as disciplined a team as you will see. He gets the players to buy in as well as anyone. Listening to his press conferences over the last couple of years, the dude is extremely smart and looks at things a little different than other coaches, in my opinion. I dont think ( and hope not) that he will be someone that SC would look at to hire but he has done a hell of a job at CCU. I think he is exactly where he needs to be, in the FCS.

why I believe they hired him straight from Lake Travis High School, something like a 169-38 record? back to back 16-0 seasons?

is that right?

I think he did one year somewhere small like Toledo or something. Not sure, but I seem to recall.

Tulsa

Easy to be a big fish in a small pond… Question is, can he win in the SEC? Look what happened when Spurrier went to the NFL… And he was at the top of his college game then.
