Family on vacation at Hunting Island. Left cast net under house when we got there. Near the end of trip I told my daughter to pick it up so we could use to catch some bait and she jumped back when she saw a King snake trapped in net. There were actually 2 snakes in the net- one dead. I had to cut the live snake out since his head went through many holes in the net. He was in bad shape but crawled away. Lots of repairs needed for net! s1199.photobucket.com/user/rpatterson2580/media/image_zps43e832f1.jpg.html]

Put kayaks in at base of Johnson Creek Bridge and discovered a man about 35-40 years old lives under bridge. Interesting to say the least ( He drinks Budweiser) Paddled to mouth of inlet and fished off bank of south end of Harbour Island.
Using Gulp shrimp tipped with mud minnows caught 1 red, 1 whiting and 1 flounder. Inlet loaded with bait( menhaden, mullet, etc) and would have thought fishing would have been better but water was very dirty due to wind. In years past I have seen tarpon in this area but saw none on this trip . Great place to go.

I have seen that dude walking along the side of the road on my trips out to Hunting surfin. Saw him today.
What is he like?
He looks kind of sketchy and honestly, I think its kind of sketch to be living under that bridge.
I have only said hello to him twice under the bridge. He seems OK ( other than living under a bridge , I guess) , and I am sure he must have had some “issues” in his past. Hopefully he can get his life straightened out, find a place to live etc. Many years used an old guy named Mr. Corey I believe lived in the small hummock right across from barefoot bubbas. He was in a lot better shape, sold things to tourist , had a rough cabin to live in, but looked a lot like the current guy under the bridge .
Hey Bo you been sneaking into town without me knowing?
