Limped straight out to 150’, dried off and got lines out. Within 15 min. had a king in the box. After that not much. Picked up and ran deeper. Around noon we hooked up with a sail which was a first for me. Ended the day with 3 dolphin, 1 king, 1 sail, and a cuda. If not for the sail, it would have been a long day. Had about 6 or 7 short strikes too.
Nice job on the sail. (they do look just as good photographed in water at boats edge tho, as 7 said, techically illegal to remove from water unless kept.)
Yes, Illegal, and very bad for the fish…Pictures do look better in the water…hope DNR doesnt see that, as Im sure youll get a call…
“If you can’t stand behind our soldiers, then try standing in front of them”
seriously… you think they’re gonna show up at his house and arrest him or give him a citation?.. thats just ridiculous…
Just what 6ft said, seriously do you think DNR is gonna hunt down someone who brought a sail out of the water, just to take a once in a lifetime picture.
They are under staffed as it is, there’s bigger fish to catch.
Good job on the sail! I have taken a few pics of friends’ first sails and posted them here and there. I haven’t had anyone show up at my door yet. Enjoy…

Could someone please tell me where i could find where it is illegal to take a sail out of the water and then release it. I have looked everywhere and can not find anything on it. Thanks for the help.
