Just showing off

Sounds as if you are not a whaler fan! Mine is a 70 model 17 and has been bullet proof, run a 200 black max off an old offshore boat with a home made bracket for the long shaft and plastic concole, It has been swamped, turned over and dropped in the road! We could start a new thread with the old whalers

I think Larry is referring to the NEW Whalers.

I had a great year in 2013 business wise, and the kids are out of school,so I thought what the hell, lets look at new Whalers. Not only was I shocked, but my southern milltown values were offended by what I saw.

I’m digging my new/old McKee 16.Those guys are gone now,It seems that building good boats and running a big business are not the same skill set, but they have my respect, working class guys building working class boats that people could actually afford.

Larry has raised his game to building functional works of art, and that is for a select few.

I shouldn’t have said that, Whalers are tough boats and better than most. I also had a 16’ MCKee craft for years, beat the crap out of it, couldn’t kill it and Lord knows we tried:smiley:

There is no substitute for quality.

When you have a calling for perfection, adequate will never do…

It is all about perfection…

That is one fine looking boat there. Just hope they dont mistake you for a Russian spy ship with 22 rods looking like antennas.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

Beautiful girl, Larry.

Nice work.
