Kids first fish

Stayed at Edisto this weekend with my buddy Matt and his family, decided to grab the two youngins at his house to do some fishin at Botany and had a great time. The two boys had never caught a fish before so i figured we would put them on a fish or two. We fished for a couple hours on friday evenin and ended up with a red each for the boys, and two pups on the fly for myself. I would have liked to had them castin jigs cause that place is eatenup with flounder but they couldn’t quite get the hang of the spinnin rod so we just soaked muds and cut mullet. I had heard a bunch of great fishin stories from that pond of reds and drum tailin all over the place but i wasn’t lucky enough to see a single tail, but still a great place to fish. Thank God that land will be preserved, it doesn’t get much more beautiful than it is out there.

The two boys are from Charlotte, but now they’re officially lowcountry boys. The first step to becomin a man is catchin a fish, and the first step to becoming a real man is catchin a spottail.

Awesome Colt! I took my boys there on Sat afternoon and it was a little slow but we managed a nice flounder each on soft plastics. That place is fun, and its great seeing the kids having a blast. I wonder how many times those flounder have been hooked?

"Anyone know a good orthodontist?

that was all anyone else caught while we were there, they were jealous to see to those reds!

Nice job. Kids catching fish is what makes being on the water all the worth while.
