King Mackeral Hunting Island

I am going to Hunting Island in a couple of weeks. I would like to go King fishing while I am there. I have fished out of charleston a lot but not out of this area. Can anyone tell me the best place to put in a fish from there? Where is the best place to catch menhaden? Is there anything I should be concerned about fishing off the beach?

I will be fishing in a 21ft bay boat so I really don’t want to run more than about 10 miles out.

Any help would be appreciated.

Follow someone out of the Fripp Inlet the first time. It can get tricky. Pogies are outside the bars now in large numbers. Bump troll live bait anywhere in 20 - 40 foot water.

If you have a boat and can go to Mcteer Bridge and fish the opposite side of the docks it is a good place for reds on an incoming tide I have always done well there closer to port royal though, I dont know about king ?
