Anyone seen or caught any kings around Edisto nearshore,Kiawah,40 or 60 reefs? Got nephew coming from Columbia and he’s set on fishing for kings.
Spanish mackeral are more abundant than I have ever seen them in this area from 40-60 feet. In the past 2 weeks, I have seen several kings skying through these schools. I don’t target them but there seem to be plenty around near shore.

Gonna be down this weekend - can you give me some general idea of where you have seen the spanish? Been a while since I felt a fish on the end of the line.

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.
I found a nice school of spanish about 400 yards North of the A can last Sunday. I also heard about a guy who caught 35 one mile off the beach.
They have been plentiful in several areas within sight of the beach. Don’t mean to sound vague, but you would be hard pressed not to see them running north or south in water deeper than 30 feet.
