Anybody ever fished the pier by Knowles Island? I was thinking about heading out there in the morning to try it out and wanted to see if anyone here has had success out there.
Thanks!

Well since it seems that no one has ever heard of the place I figured I would share. Its a nice pier but fairly remote out in Ridgeland on the broad river. Caught a nice black drum (5 lbs or so) and then four sting rays. Saw a few guys catch some trout but they were fishing artificial and I was fishing dead shrimp. The pier is next to the old rail road trusses that connected Savannah to Charleston during the civil war. I am sure plenty alot of fish have broken people off on those! I spent about 2 hours there on the incoming tide before having to go to work today, the pier is about 300 ft long and I can imagine would feel pretty packed if more than a few fisherman were out there.

NIce pic! I know where Knowles Plantation is and the old Burnt Truss, but you pic does not look like it?
Super fishing all around that area. Good area to run a Turkey neck at slack tide for some crabs.

It was under the pier, I had to pull the drum up on the beach because I was using light weight setup and didn’t bring a drop net. It was really beautiful out there.
