When I lived in Lexington (Lake Murray area) as a general contractor I met dozens of those guys. Subs that showed up in the biggest, loudest, shiniest, most jacked up truck most the time was a 5’ nothin’ 145lb. punk idiot that yeah, probably had to pee sittin’ down. And complained all the time, no money for this or that, not making enough, blah blah blah. Or on the lake, biggest, loudest, fastest etc. boat… was usually one of those same dudes. So not really research, just almost 50 years of observation. And before you say it, I “could” have that stuff, I just don’t “need” any of it. Just sayin’.

There is something to what dparker is saying. Not always of course but alot. Alot of people who show off the new car, boat, big house etc. are buried in debt. And alot of times the people with real money would never let you know. Have seen the same thing countless times over the years. Its reality.

48 replies and none of you boys can take the lady fishing? If I lived down there & knew anything about how to fish there, she’d be on my boat tomorrow. And my wife would know and approve. I mean, hell, she can bait her own hook, rig baits, throw a cast net, reel in a fish AND she drinks beer!! Not to mention, very easy on the eyes.

Just remember that politics in the end controls you. Ouch, that hurts, but… never the less politics is what is making life changing choices while those that duck their heads in the sand and run away from the inevitable are letting it happen.
Get involved in politics and make a difference. Running from the problems only makes them grow bigger.

Thank you so much guys! I have gotten a bunch of offers and a few pm’s. Just might take my time and build some relationships in a safe environment before getting on a boat alone with a bunch of men. Haha. I was all for it but my coworker is a retired RI cop and father of a very successful fisherman who is on here and suggested that i slow my roll a bit. Haha. Definitely still interested though. A bad day fishing is much better than a good day at work.
Not sure what part of town you are in but look into going or joining a local fishing club. There is an all ladies club,Carolina Lady Anglers, Stono River, Summerville Saltwater, and East Cooper club that allow women as members or guests. There will be people in each group that can help you.
