Land based shark fishing

Will be down this weekend to shark fish in the area. Anybody had any luck recently sharkin?

Yeah the bites pick up a lot. I didn’t go this week but it was good last week, I’m going this weekend. Last week I dropped a whole AJ for a big boy but as I paddle to drop it I see Blacktips jumping. Well I’m not on the beach 5 minutes and my prime bait is mauled by 5ft Blacktips. I’m pretty sure a gang of them went feeding frenzy since my rig was pulled apart in opposite directions and there were way more shakes then normal. So its on like donkey Kong this weekend. Expect good reports Monday.

I did pretty well (in my opinion) a couple weeks ago on edisto. 6’ and a 6.5’ sandbar sharks, and a 7.5’ sand tiger. During the day. Heading back down this weekend as well. I’ll be the one with the little orange kayak, if you’re out that direction.

Better to be silent and thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

I landed a nice bull ( 84" ) on Monday - plenty of sharpnose in the surf for bait

Dan, what island? And were you using those pesky little farts for bait when you caught it?

I’ve been dying to catch a bull, which is why I ask… Its on my list of coveted species… Lol.

Req likes to fish Seabrook inlet a lot and edisto inlet. Some people like deep water and inlets are deep. I prefer to fish where the bait is because I believe that’s where the fish are. I’ve seen more big sharks come front beach. I rather deal with waves than current.

Yeah dan I talked to you on Facebook the other day and I’ve met you on the beach last year, nice fish by the way. We caught a big bull last year too, wouldn’t mind catching a few this weekend.

Just saw this - it was on Edisto using sharpnose for bait
