That doesn’t mean they determine the punishment. Can you provide a reference to who determined suspension?
The violations and subsequent punishments are outlined in the NCAA’s drub policy that all schools are governed by. Do I know the exact page number in the phone book-thick NCAA rules book that specifically states that, no, but I’m sure if you have a few free hours to parous it, you could find it. There’s no way Clemson would’ve been permitted to let any of these players take the field on Thursday after failing a NCAA drug test. Thus, Dabo had no choice but to get these kids a ticket back to Clemson. I get what you’re trying to do but the bottom line is the NCAA and its policies (regardless of how stupid and overbearing some are) is the reason schools do the “right thing.”
The kicker was a back up and a senior that graduated a few days ago so he was gone either way. The TE was also a back up but he is a Junior but has had zero receptions during his playing time at Clemson. Both of these players have had discipline issues while at Clemson so given that, it was easy to say “bye bye” to them. The WR, on the other hand, is a freshman, with prior disciplinary issues
That was a good read. We should spread that article everywhere.
That type of leadership and caring will have Clemson winning recruiting battles time after time
Lapik was gone anyway so easy call but I’m sure he would of been kicked even if he had more time to play.
Jay Jay has one more year to play and we might be losing Legget so Dabo is kicking a potential starter for next year.
Cain probably has the highest ceiling at WR after Williams. Losing him for the postseason is a big deal. This is his second violation but only his first drug violation. He just needed an attitude adjustment the first time.
Who dictates the drug penalties? Pretty sure the team or conference has complete control of that in regards to recreational drugs. Honeybadger lost track of how many test he failed but was never suspended so obviously not all drug test are NCAA test or not all suspensions are NCAA suspensions.
I also heard this morning that all of the playoff teams had kids fail the drug tests, but ALL others entered a protest so the players could still play. Swinney shows real integrity and class.

Yes, he does. I hope he can clean up AlmaBama like he sorta has done for Clemson.
