Lettering Wearing Off

Hello Folk’s,

The words are getting worn off the switches on my Key West. Any thoughts on what I could do to redo these? I thought about using a labelmaker and sticking those on but figured they would not stick for long.

Thanks for any info.

Nick, are they engraved, or flush?

I’ve bought several Blue Seas switch panels that came with a plethora of labels. Be glad to send you some if that will help. What do you need?

Jighead is such a great artiste` he could likely hand letter 'em for ya! He fancies hisself able to do anything.

Seriously, Glenn, you could order new ones from any Key West dealer, but some dealers won’t order just the caps, plus you have to disassemble every switch. The alternative is to have a trophy engraver produce a narrow strip of the black (or any color) with white underlay with the correct switch designations. Then use 3M double side foam mounting tape (get the heavy duty) and stick it in place over the switches. I’ve done this several times, and it looks good. I don’t have a pic though.

I will get with ya next week on it Jim.

Thanks!

I’m in the middle of making another dash for my Sea Hunt. They add up quickly, but I’m ready to put all new ones in mine for about $100. This was the lowest price I found, and they have symbol and wording on them. I’ve read you still can’t read them at night even though the symbol is over the lit part.

Thanks Brian, I just tried to send you a little vid of the boat.
