Limit of trout on plastic

if only your response made any sense I could respond intelligently

If your response to a legal catch made any sense you’d be intelligent

They are good out to a year if frozen proper. I Clean and completely cover in water and then freeze. You can go old school and cut off the top of a milk jug and freeze them completely submerged in that. Sure like anything else fresh is better. Go out get a full legal limit a couple of times and you are set for the year depending on your eating habits. Wife and I eat a lot of fish.

If skin off fillets, they keep but not as good as whole fish or scaled skin on fillets as in any other fish. If you want skin off fillets and think of freezing some. Don’t scale or de-skin till after you thaw them out.

My grandfather would gut white bass and simply freeze them in the basement freezer and then pull out what he wanted to thaw and fillet. I’ve never done it with any fish but I’ll say this, when I go fishing I take a cooler with ice. I’m usually too tired to fillet them that evening but I add more ice to the cooler and let them set overnight. They fillet very nicely. Especially trout.

Btw, Harold, great click bait showing that beautiful stringer! I need a stringer like that in a video!

Kerry,
Thanks. It’s not so hard to get a stringer like that…if you go where the fish are biting. All my trips don’t end like that. I agree with you about waiting until the next day to clean trout. I don’t do it because I’m too tired. I often wait a day because they are easier to filet after they’ve been on ice over night.
Good luck on that stringer. Keep casting!

[file ]error[/file]You go Harold. I caught theses off he dock at Bushy Park at low tide… now you haters have someone to talk trash about, leave Harold alone

[file ]error[/file]I’m trying to load some pictures but keep getting error

I get an error, also, when I try to upload from my iPhone. When I send them to my desk top and save them in a folder as jpeg file, they upload just fine. Try that. I want to see your catch. Thanks.
