I normally fish inshore for reds trout ect. Normally I go with 10 lb braid main line and 15 lb floro leader, is that to light or not?
Should work fine. If you fishing for reds around structure you might want to bump up to 25lb fluro. 15lb and under a perfect for trout in my option.

agree I would bump up the fluoro. I use 15 lb powerpro braid with 25 Seaguar fluoro

Grand Slam…What!!! Do you mean at Denny’s! Man do I love pancakes!
Catch me plenty of nice bull reds on 15lb braid and 20lb leader. Just be mindful of the braid your buying. When it comes to cheap braid, you get what you pay for.
I like 20lb power pro and 20lb floro. will handle sheep’s around docks and anything else where.
I never hit the water with just one setup. The braid I use ranges from 12lb test up to 50lb test and the fluorocarbon leader I use, if I use one, ranges from 10lb test to 20lb test.

Why not just fish 15lb fluoro and and eliminate the knot and braid all together. or lighter
Fluorocarbon doesn’t lend itself well to every application. With braid, in comparison to 15lb fluoro, I can put more line with a higher pound test on the reel. The smaller diameter braid casts better/longer than comparable pound test fluorocarbon. Braid has better abrasion resistance than fluoro but fluoro is considerably less visible under water than braid, which is key in clear water situations, imo.
Both have strengths and weaknesses and more-beneficial applications. Why limit yourself to just one tool when there’s a place for multiple tools that will help you do the job better/more effectively.

Don’t like flor as a main line it is to much like a slinky! Great as a leader as long as it’s been pulled tight on a rod for a day or two.
Anyone experience fluoro breaking when attached to braid? Had several Black Drum break off last week at IOP. My thought was the braid was cutting fluoro off at the knot. Went to 25# mono leader, and problem stopped.
15 or 20lb braid is the best all around for inshore, 10 is too light for me, dont see any advantage in that.

Maybe you arent spooling the line correctly. What reels you have issues with? Are you using a line conditioner ?
Either the way the line is being spooled on to the reel (creating line twists) or cheap fluorocarbon (high memory) will create that “slinky” affect.
Mixed Nutz, I’ve never had the braid cut my fluoro. If my knot fails (I use the Alberto knot for fluorocarbon-to-braid), it’s usually because I didn’t tie it correctly. You have to “wet” (spit) the line before cinching the knot tight. Otherwise heat builds up as the line rubs together and it weakens the line.

Fluoro (or braid or mono) won’t have twist if you put it on correctly.
alright P-K ,i would like to know how to put flouro on a spinning reel correctly so it will not have twist.thanks in advance
This is how I spool my spinning reels…

Please cut and paste your question into a search engine like google
I bet you will get a number of responses. Maybe a video or two as well
You are welcome. Let me know if I can help further

Mixnutz, I also had that problem, the braid cuttting the mono or floro till I tied a uni to uni knot and it’s been good ever since!
