If you put in at this landing, how do you get back to say ■■■■■■■ Cut? I have been told you must go out Big Bay Creek and go around some bouy to get into the Edisto. I live on Yonges Island and could use the Dawhoo but I like to “expand my horizons”. Any advise is appreciated, Mike.
When you get to the end of Big Bay Creek bear to the left, look for the marker…if you try to go straight across the bay there are lots of sandbars…be careful…avoid the big mudflat on the right near the marsh. Once you get around the marker head back upriver (right), stay in the center of the channel…St Pierre Creek will be on your right…then Baily Creek…■■■■■■■ Cut will appear on the left, you will know it when you see it. Check a chart of the area first. Did I mention the sandbars across the bay out of Big Bay Creek and the mudflat on the right.
EF got there first.
You have a long ride in a No Wake Zone down Big Bay. It is a nice view passing the docks but, takes longer. To the left out of Dawho down the ICW would be closer by boat and trailer. Just watch for snowbird wakes.
The markers either side of ■■■■■■■ cut have lights on them and the one that cuts to Dawho. Once you turn the cut it’s only a hundred yards or so and you are in the Ashepoo. Watch for the crab pots - like a mine field along the sides.![]()
Really nice views either way you go.![]()
