Lobsters

I’ve seen all those pictures of the “bugs” you guys get off the bottom.
Are they as good as the Maine lobsters you get around town?
Are they hard to find, and what depth do you catch them?

Am I asking too many questions?

The lobsters we get here are pretty big (5 to 10 #s) and are a different consistancy and flavor than the Maine lobster. They have a membrane that is tough, but if you cut it out the meat is pretty tender, but not quite as tender as a 2 lb Maine lobster, the flavor is somewhat nutty, and I enjoy that.
The depth is around 100ft, and once you find the right bottom you will usually find bugs there. In the cold water they are much more lethargic and are easier to get.

They are terrible, so to help you out, when you get a couple call me and I will be glad to dispose of them for you. Another lobster that occurs here is the shovelnose or bulldozer, it is smaller but is just as tasty. Good hunting.

We also get shovlenose lobsters (AKA slipper lobsters)and they avarage about 1.5 #. They are all tail and very tender.

Shovelhead…UUUUMMMMMMMM!

Here are some pictures of shovelheads we have caught.
