I’m new to this forum, just happened to drop by as I was searching for fishing activities in Charleston.
I’m visiting Charleston in a couple weeks for work, I’m new the area and will be there for the next couple months.
I’m a 28 year old (guy) fishing newbie and I’m interested in spending a day or two learning the ropes without a huge investment. I was thinking about maybe some pier or beach fishing, since the charters tend to be more on the expensive side.
Anyway, if anyone needs a fishing partner or knows a good place to rent fishing gear. I’d be interested. I’ll even buy lunch.
Hey grayson. Im not new to fishing, but new to fishing in that big fish bowl called the ocean. Im from the upstate (greenville) and me and a friend drives down to charleston every couple of weeks to fish. So far we have learned alot. We may go next weekend. If you want to go with us sometime let us know!
I’ve lived in Charleston for about 4 months and I’ve acquired a decent amount of knowledge on where to fish. Moved from LA (originally from AL), so I’ve got salt water tackle. Need to bet a bigger rod and reel for shark fishing though. Probably wait until the off-season to the make the purchase.
If y’all are going next weekend, I would definitely be interested in meeting up with y’all.
I usually fish on Folly Beach. Mostly catch lots of whiting, croaker, and pompano. I use the whiting for live bait.
We’d love to meet up etc. We were going this weekend but He has to work. We have plenty of rods, just nothing too big. I do have a abu 6000 that i use for bigger fish. Im ordering some senators soon. I fished folly beach about a month ago. Didnt do so good, but im up for trying it again.
Wow, awesome to hear so many peeps want to go fishing!
I’ll be there over the weekend of August 18th, staying in close to downtown Charleston (Historic District). I’ll be around a couple more weekends after that, but that’s the closest one to today.
Grayson, I move back in to my place downtown for College of Charleston on the 18th. I could take you fishing in the harbor or off the battery or something if you’d like since they’re both downtown. Check your PM’s.
