I fish in Charleston a few times a year when I am visiting from Pennsylvania. As I keep some 8-9 foot surf rods at my mother in laws, I have been shopping for something bigger to cast farther, etc. While I typically fish at Breech, Mt. Pleasant Pier or Shim Creek, I would like to actually surf fish from the beach. I would love to land a shark or some nice fish from the beach.
What size tackle should I get? Specifically, how large of a surf rod, etc???
