looking to go out Thursday

Hey I’m looking to go out Thursday anyone else going out to wrecks around hhi I can follow? I have 20 ft sportcraft cc, 150 oceanpro. New to the waters but ready to fish planning on dropping in at pinckney island 8 am Thursday.

Keep reeling

DURING A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY…INEXPERIENCED MARINERS…
ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER VESSELS…SHOULD AVOID
NAVIGATING IN HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS.

Well if it looks bad I’ll just head to broad river I’m watching the forecast, it keeps changing says 4 ft seas Thursday

Keep reeling

Small craft advisory in effect from Tuesday morning to Friday afternoon… Thursday NE WINDS 20 TO 25 KT WITH GUSTS TO 30 KT.
SEAS 4 TO 6 FT. If the forecast doesn’t change better stay home!

Since you are new to the waters let me say this. I ain’t new, been in these waters for 50 years, and there ain’t no way on Gods green earth I’d willingly fish the Broad River with that weather forecast. I’d rather be 40 miles offshore than in Port Royal with 30 kts of wind blowing against the current. Been there, done that.

The creeks along the Cheechesie should be OK in spots but it can get real rough in that wind too. Be careful out there.

Then cheechesie it is, maybe some reds will cooperate, I have fished days like this on the Chesapeake bay. Well I’ll see how it goes :o)

Keep reeling

There are plenty of reasonably sheltered places along there to keep out of the wind and catch reds and trout. I’d just stay out of the big waters and focus on the creeks. Good luck!

That’s some excellent advice. Broad river and chechessee can nasty beasts in those conditions.
