I really don’t like all the pressure on the kids to make a decision before they graduate… These kids are being recruited out of middle school. To much pressure. IMO

I agree Fish… Recruiting is like the Christmas stuff in stores, comes out earlier and earlier every year…

I played high school football with Tony Elliot. He’s an outstanding person and role model, one of the good guys. Great pick up for Dabo and Clemson.

Because of all the pressure they get more and more kids are saying they want to make a decision early so they don’t have to worry about it during their senior season, and instead can focus on just football.
Come on shevlin, you know that a verbal commit as a soph or junior(even for a senior) does not limit them to recruiting BS.
A verbal is not different than the kids making up his mind and not telling anyone. except that the other schools know they need to try HARDER to sway him

You are right, but I do think the overall amount of contact/pressure does drop off just not all together.
Having said that, these are reasons many coaches are pushing for an early signing period. Would be great for a kid to be able to sign before his senior year with other coaches then being prohibited to contact them.
I think they should prohibit contact until their senior year. I would rather it be after their last game as a senior.
I’m 50/50 on that. one side is yeah, sucks they get pressured so early.
other side is what I said earlier, kids are committing earlier because they don’t want to deal with recruiting their senior year.
many of them would rather not stress about it and enjoy their last football season in high school
