Lorenzo Ward, Jr

Ward Jr plays on my son’s team here in Columbia. This kid is a class act all the way around. Total team player and displays utmost sportsmanship. need to be more like him in the game today. Hardnose player who will run you over and then help the opponent up. He has his official visit to The Citadel (my alma mater) in a couple of weeks, so keeping my fingers crossed that they get him.

I saw the article, sounds like a good kid. The QB is a good kid too, I coached him in flag football for a couple of seasons several years ago along with my son. I could see he had potential back then. I hope the Blue Devils win all their remaining games this year except against the Falcons (my son was a LB there). Hope all goes well with his Citadel visit.

DFreedon, we must know each other then or at least met. My son played on Robin Bacon’s flag football team I helped coach. I also coached Avery early on in soccer before he defected over to our rival team coached by Chris Cooke. Avery is an outstanding young man and an incredible athlete. My son is Eric Von Hollen, who is a junior at Dreher. We are going to have our hands full with Flora this year!! They are a poised to make a run for the AAA title I think.

I am sure we have crossed paths. My son graduated last year. He played football all 4 years as well as lacrosse. They were on the brink every year but this year may be it. That being said, I miss Dean Howell.

Been good to see the rise in the programs at Flora and Dreher. Not easy to be a quality football program in Richland I.
