Went fishing for only an hour today. Right when I took my net out the bucket I saw a school of mullet at least 50 yards long going crazy, walked up and threw. I ended up getting no less than 40 mullet with the smallest being 1ft. (one of the mullet was ginormous, it looked 20 inches and a few pounds). I ended up giving 20 to a man and his family who were extremely grateful. I guess my question is what is the best way to cook mullet? I just kept 2 for bait and threw the rest back.

I’m so salt life I sued google earth for giving away all of my fishing spot’s.

Folly by the light house, they were jumping all day but that was the biggest school I had ever seen.

They are everywhere right now. Especially off the beaches… Surprised we haven’t seen more tarpon reports…

I was at edisto and got plenty for bait. I would cast the mullet out and almost every cast would spook a huge school. I just can’t believe there arent Spanish just tearing them up.

Oh yeah to answer your question… Smoked is fantastic. If you search the cooking your catch forum for barbrawangs smoked mullet dip well it’s worth it :stuck_out_tongue:
