You burned my spot bruh. JK. I’ve always heard not to stand on the peck fins, but idk if that’s just some people’s theories. How do you like the new BG? Don’t take this as hate. Not saying it didn’t swim off fine but I would of liked to see a little more speed on the release, especially since spinning gear wears them out more, that fish looked beat. You have to be speedy, think NASCAR pit crew. Thanks for the report and good sign on the blacktips showing up.

No problem. The BGS working awesome! Blacktips are very hardy. Each species requires a different release. Some faster then others. But Tippers can be kept out for a while. Still got him back in plenty of time. I’m in constant communication with DNR about proper release methods, For example if the hook is taking to long to get out, we cut the hook with bolt cutters. We are working with DNR starting in May tagging and taking blood samples on blacktips. So this was a nice warm up fish. But she swam away strong once she got a little deeper. Circle hook right in the corner of the mouth. And everyone fishes that spot! Lol!

I enjoyed watching your video. Thanks for sharing it.

Great video. That young man did a better job than I would have. Clearly he has been out before fishing recommending not to grab the braid. I’m also keeping an eye on those BG’S I figure if they stand the test of your sharks, they will stand the test of whatever I can put them through. :smiley:Daniel how long is the mono part of that liter? I heard you say it was 400lb. ???

Great video Daniel. Nice catch and release. Great pick-me-up for this Tuesday!!

Keep on castin’

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! And as far as my rigs go, yes… I use 6 ft. of 400lb mono(crimped), 2 ft. of #19 single strand wire, 10-12/Ot Owner Circle Hooks, and my main line is 65lb braid. I have 2 Diawa BG 8000s both have around 600 yards of line.
