It would be awesome to have 200 hundered boats! It is a guaranteed $3,000, so if there are only 20 boats they will still pay the full amount. Anymore than the minimum number of boats they adjust up based on number of entries. I cant remember what the payout was for the first charleston event 2 years ago but it was $4500-$5000 range.
I believe it would be most beneficial to post the official rules. It can be very intimidating for newcomers to become involved without all the information. Per the previous post, yes, it is artificial only.
While fishing these circuits, I have definitely seen some fish with red noses being weighed. Thankfully, none of the winners’ fish (to my knowledge) in the IFA or LCRC looked altered. There is much talk within the inner circles of both series utilizing polygraphs this year just like all major bass fishing series.

watch at weigh in and you will see freezing cold fish that can barely move, and that have blood red noses right on 23". Makes you wonder
“When i was young they tried to flush me down the toilet because they already knew i was the ****!”
“Run run run as fast as you can you cant catch me im the prodrive man!”
20 entries times 200 dollars =4000 dollars???where does the extra 1000 dollars go? probably gonna be a record tournament year…Thanks DNR and catch/release guys!

Toppyblue I beleive the extra $1000 goes to putting on the event. I would expect that the location for the captains meeting is not free, or the insurance they must carry is not free, and Im sure the behind the scene stuff is not free, so $1000 to put on a top notch tournament isnt that bad.
The tournament pays out 1 place for every 7 entries to my knowledge. For example, with a 50 boat field, the top 7 places would win money with a MINIMUM of $3,000 going to the winners, and the rest divided among the other 6 winning teams. There is a formula that is followed, and the tournament (I think) pays back over 90% of entries.
It means people take a fish and slam him on the floor of the boat to flatten his nose, make a larger fish shrink. Fish with a really dark red nose have often times been dropped on their faces from what i have seen and heard
Reds can get pink noses from running into the sides of the livewell, but the length is not altered. The nasal cavity (bone) has to be broken in order to “shorten” the overall length. These fish WILL NOT be accepted at weigh-in. Any alterations to the length (nose or tail) are grounds for disqualification from ALL future events.

Ok i will bite, i am the dumb one, i know you are talking about cheating but how does the red nose play into the mix, what does that mean?
