Mackerel Monday

I had the opportunity to take my brother-in-law and his brother-in-law fishing on Monday. Left the marina with these big fellas at 730 and headed out on a super flat sea. Menhaden were everywhere at the C-can so we threw the net a couple of times to load up. Ran out to the 40 at 30 kts. Wow! I don’t do that very often in my 19ft boat. We ended up getting into the Spanish Mackerel and limited out by the time the boys had enough sun. Water was 80 degrees and fairly clear. With no breeze blowing it was dang hot! Look forward to doing that again soon.

Good Job - we ran into some Sunday, but they were quick to sound and not in feeding frenzy. Is that a bucktail you were using?

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.

EWC:

That was just something I grabbed quick after a cutoff. Not a bucktail, though.
