MAD Charleston Nov. 10 - 11

Yep ; it’s that time again. Mad Charleston 2017 is your chance to show your appreciation to our nations heros that give to you every day so that you can fish , hunt , raise your families , worship your god , go about daily life free from the fears that affect so many 3rd world countries. Think about it ; these men / women and their families serve you every day (some in hell holes giving their lives) so we can enjoy living in this great country doing our thing in freedom…
This is MAD Charlestons 3rd event to be held again at Rivers Edge Marina on the Ashley river just off Leeds Ave.
Friday evening the 10th is the Captains meeting where all info is shared and you’ll be fed like kings while also being entertained by local bands playing your favorite music…
Sat morning the 11th the heros show up to be treated to a day of fishing , fun , and eats.
TO SHOW YOUR APPRECIATION AND TO SIMPLY SAY THANKS
Please consider volunteering your boat to take as many of these heros
as you can out for the day. They are happy to fish inshore , nearshore , or offshore , they just want to fish !!!
We are also including again this year the Surf/Pier Capts that will be fishing the local piers and surf along with a group ferried out to
Morris Is for surf fishing… So if you’re a surf/pier fisherman and don’t have a boat the Surf/Pier group is a way for you to help!!

Oh;; did I forget to say this event is totally 100% free to the troops and their families simply because of guys/gals like you that want to help say “THANKS” for what you do…

Lots more to come ; if you have questions just drop me a PM or any one of the below here on CF and i’m sure it’ll get answered…

Gene ; marshwabbbit
Andy ; Andyb
Pete ; runbabyrun
David ; dparker

Remember ;;
ONLY TWO THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAS OFFERED TO DIE FOR YOU.
JESUS CHRIST FOR YOUR SINS.
THE AMERICAN SOLDIER FOR YOUR FREEDOM.

We are trying to round up a few more surf guys for the surf fishing trip to Morris Island. If anyone has any questions regarding the surf trip. PM Dparker or myself and we will be happy to answer any questions regarding the event. If someone decides to get involved with the surf trip “specifically taking the ferry to Morris Island” PM Dparker or myself and don’t sign up on the MAD site. You sign up with us through PM. People can also learn more about the event by clicking on the military icon under Gailwins name on this post. Plenty of pics from last years event. The fishing was good. We fished this event last year and it was one of the most gratifying day’s I have ever had on the water. Some of the soldiers have never even fished before and the smiles that were on their faces was something I will alway’s remember. It’s simply an easy way to show these men and women that we appreciate them. Surf fisher’s help us out and lets take these men and women fishing. If your interested PM myself or David and join this well worth cause. All are welcome. If someone wishes to take the soldiers fishing to one of their own spots other than the boat trip to Morris, they can do that as well. Take care folks.

I will join the surf fishing @Morris Island

2016 MAD Event

MULLET! EEEUUUUWWW!!!

I may be making the walk with you gentlemen this time around the point. We had pretty decent success hooking up with fish last year. It seemed like Jarvis took home basically the limit of Whiting haha. Caught a lot of rays and a small shark.

Basically what I would expect with the conditions and the “inlet” type bottom we fished.

Whats the chances we would be able to land a little more south/frontside of island? probably none?

I would guess any “front beach” area along the island could be good. The rock groing is a good looking spot.
I will make a scouting trip again this year the weekend before the event checking access points and paths. I will TRY not to catch any too many fish.

looking at maps i agree. that little rock area looks promising.

You guys are planning a strategy already  , I will definitely try the other side this time. I might bring a bigger cooler so ya’ll put that fish for my to go box :smiley:

Last year the big reds came from the front beach

Just got a new reel in yesterday. Thanks to Pete and DP I am officially on the Cabo bandwagon haha. Found a Cabo 80 for a good price. Just have to get some line on it and here we come

Gear up folks and get ready. We have 19 signed up troops for the surf trip, with plenty on the back burner. With 5 surf guy’s that have commited and possibly one more that may join us. If anyone wants to join us and take these soldiers fishing, we would love to have you. Plenty of room on the ferry boat. It’s a great time that is highly rewarding. Our service men and women would love to go fishing, help us make that happen. If anyone wants to join us or is interested in finding out more about the surf fishing trip PM myself or Dparker, we would be glad to answer any questions regarding the trip.

All rite it’s time to case these keyboards , dust off the boats and take our heros fishing. All you jockyes ready to ride? SIGNED UP YET???</font id=“red”>

Are we going to use any hash tag codes for posting pictures of the event in any social media sites? I remeber to suggest this last time but its a last minute suggestion so maybe this time it can make it. Once we use hashtags we can easily locate all pictures and posting from the event.
