I think that is a fair point you bring up.

Never know until you try it. You got to realize, Dolphin have an extremely high metabolic rate and crazy appetite and they will gorge themselves on just about any food they can find. Don’t overthink it. For trolling Dolphin are our easiest offshore fish to catch. Temp breaks, Weed lines, Floating debris, and diving birds.
I’ll say it again, Don’t be scared to be polite and ask some guys at the landings what worked for them. Some will tell you exactly what and where, others will put you in the ballpark, some will snub you. Maybe this site will get back to speed in the offshore section. Use the search function on catching Dolphin. April, May and June are prime months. After mid June it gets to be hit and miss. IMO.
