Marina in HHI or Beaufort

I am moving to the Beaufort area and I am looking for a marina to slip my 32 Albemarle. I am looking for recommendations of which marinas in the area are best for fisherman. Dont really care about nightlife and fluff, just want a marina with good floating slips, fuel, bait and ice.

Thanks in advance,
Rob

I like the folks at Port Royal Landing Marina. They cater more to anglers…and have all you need. Talk to Tom, Rion or Tony and they’ll fix you up! There is a restaurant & bar attached, with a nice eating deck overlooking the water and marina, called The Back Porch. Rick and his staff have the best burger in Beaufort, and all their other items are great…one of the most consistently good restaurants in the city. They have daily lunch & dinner specials…very good fare!

Rick Griffin runs the Downtown Marina, and does a great job, but does not cater to fishermen as much as PRL…

Lady’s Island Marina is nice, but has no fuel dock.

Thanks, I will check them out. Also, anyone got any reviews of Skull Creek marina or Hilton Head RV park and marina. I will be down in April to find a house and a home for the boat. Thanks in advance.

Hilton Head Harbor Marina (aka Hilton Head RV Park and Marina) would be a great choice for the Hilton Head area. Very nice marina office and docks with a good group of fishermen fishing out of there.

Skull Creek marina seems to be more geared towards sailboats, cruisers, etc… Don’t know many fisherman who keep their boats there.

I second the Port Royal Landing Marina. Great staff , facilities, and easy access to everywhere.

Port Royal Landing Marina

depends on where you will be living. both are good spots. if you are in the beaufort area, port royal landing. if you are in hiltonhead / bluffton, skull creek. but it is about a 45 minute drive by car between the 2.

Cuda’s remark makes total sense. Don’t overlook getting one of those awesome burgers at Port Royal, they are THAT good!

Also, check out the BBQ, especially the Brisket and baked beans (my favorite) at Smokin Planks there in Port Royal on the way to The Sands boat ramp. You won’t regret it!
