Windy on Saturday so stayed in the creeks. Only caught a few small flounder. Tide was falling and we only fished for part of it. Went back early Sunday. Fished mainly in the river and sound. Caught lots of flounder but few keepers. The trip was made by the 22" flattie we pulled in followed by a 19" flounder. One keeper trout and several small trout kept us on our toes. Bite seemed to die off around 10am. We packed up at dead high and went to the house. Fish caught on Gulp shrimp, swimming mullet, and zman plastics. Not much bait for this time of year and no menhaden sightings. There were huge schools of gar that made for some good line pullers but they were tough on the flouro leaders. Water was fairly clear and in the lower 70’s.
Sounds like you had a good trip. Did one bait do better overall?

The gulp products got more hits. Had some bluefish cutoffs, but that’s normal. Bigger flounder came on the bigger baits (4" plus).
