watch out Gamecocks, he’s starting to look mighty shaky on a firm commit

MLB, Penn State, Spurrier gone? Lawd

“When coach Spurrier left it created a bit of uncertainty. Brandon has remained committed, but if the new coach has other plans, Brandon has to consider other options,” Lena McIlwain wrote. “Before this summer, He had every intention of graduating early and starting college in January, but when Spurrier left, we had to reconsider.”

McIlwain, also a baseball standout, has plans to play both sports at USC — although the outfielder could also be a high-round pick in next year’s Major League draft. His mother wrote that McIlwain had been visited by “dozens” of baseball scouts in addition to college football coaches.

Play for the school, not the coach. Spurrier hasn’t put a starting QB into the NFL in over a decade, unless you count the one game Connor Shaw played in last year at the end of the season.

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.

Sounds like Mangus is the key to keeping him at least right now. I don’t blame the kid one bit for keeping his options open. By all accounts he is a good kid with a good head on his shoulders.

I’m glad Connor Shaw is gone. But I’ll tell you, classiest guy I’ve ever seen play for sc. He’s a gamer. Hope he comes back and does well in the pros.
