MeadWestvaco dog hunters be ware

I looked at the Plum Creek website a couple years ago and if I remember correctly the lease prices say minimum bid per acre which could get kinda pricey.

You could not be more wrong here. Dog hunting is going away in SC because the majority of people who hunt deer with dogs are unethical, disrespectful, and remarkably disrespectful to the dogs they use to hunt. This not the exception to the rule…it is the rule, and Middleton is the exception.

Don’t believe me? Call your representative and see what they are hearing from landowners, or call Sen. Chip Campsen, chair of. Game and Forestry committee.

It is a matter of time, and it is not because the majority of dog hunters are the gentlemen and sportsmen they fancy themselves to be.

My buddy has property on johns island, they have a few stands on it, its agricultural. They are having a real problem with dog hunters running dogs all throughout the property and surrounding properties. They are gonna have to start getting rid of the dogs one by one…
Definitely not saying all doggers are bad,all the ones I know are good. But its something that a small percent of bad apples can ruin it for everyone

This what Bolbie…??? “Dog hunting is going away in SC because the majority of people who hunt deer with dogs are unethical, disrespectful, and remarkably disrespectful to the dogs they use to hunt</font id=“red”>”

You and Chris are incorrect… It is not the majority, it’s the minority of idiot dog hunters that think “its ok my dogs are on your property, because they can’t read” syndrome.

I’d

All the other posters in this thread who have basically said the same thing as I have said must all be wrong and clueless and close minded?

Pot, meet kettle.

All the complaints the legislature receives must be fictional too.

Whatever you do, don’t ask the game warden his opinion as that may burst your little fantasy land bubble…

Just keep name calling and insulting people and your little heads in the same sand you currently have them in, and this problem will take care of itself, and you will only have yourselves to blame.

Awesome! Thanks for posting! Looks like someone is going to eat well!

My Palm trees are doing well! You need to invite Chris Cuddle to one of your hunts and see if he still says all dog hunters are unethical. And the big fat hog gets slaughtered and then enjoyed by all.

I’m another hunter that won’t miss the dog hunters. I should not even say they are hunters, that is not hunting, takes no skill to let a dog go and wait to shoot whatever runs out the other side.
I made the mistake to join a big acre dog hunting club with a certain area of still hunting only but its so poorly managed they have only killed 12 deer this year and decided to run dogs in the still hunt area, now there is nothing in the still hunt area . No respect at all and from the word of other still hunters no one will be back next year, too bad for club, maybe these guys will figure it out why they cant pay the lease. Once i get done with the season, I’ll let anyone know what club this is, I don’t need my deer stand to come up missing, if you know what I mean. PM me after the season and I’ll for warn anyone who wants to know. This is a poor excuse of a hunt club !!!

I have never met a dog hunter that shoots “whatever” runs out the other side. it is also ignorant to say they are not hunters. It takes a whole lot more skill to shoot a deer running than it does to climb a tree and sit over a corn pile waiting for a deer to come out and stand still while you shoot it. I’m really not sure why someone would join a dog hunting club to only still hunt and expect the mean ole dogs to stay out of the designated still hunting spot… SMDH!!

What they need to do is get DNR involved. It’s dog hunters like this that are the problem, but if your buddies start exterminating dogs, then they become the azzhole still hunters that make the other still hunters look bad…

All of what other posters? You are basically the only one spewing one sided garbage. I think maybe only one other person who agrees with you, everyone else seems to have valid points either against or for either, but are not lumping the whole group into the accusation… Pretty much like all of the other toppics you have discussed on this website…

looks like Beaglewoman and crowd shoots whatever comes out, what kind of management plan you call that? Brown is down?

Many states now have a law where a buck must have at least 4 points on one side in order to kill.Certain game zones in our state could benefit from that law.Even the Middleton hunt clubs, who do everthing first class, cant determine the age of a deer as its running full speed, jumping a road. Its all a blur. How many button bucks are taken, thinking its a doe?

TRY to come up with a management plan, there may be some hope still left.

Most dog clubs have a minimum weight limit when followed helps prevent killing button bucks.

I know PLENTY of still hunters who do not follow a management plan, so that comment goes for both sides…

kill all the deer! Equal opportunity deer hunter! They all die and eat the same no matter if they have horns or not!! Since you think deer hunting with dogs is an unethical way to take and animal, what about coon hunting with dogs?

“When i was young they tried to flush me down the toilet because they already knew i was the ****!”

“Run run run as fast as you can you cant catch me im the prodrive man!”

Coon hunting…

Did that last night.

Colleton and Hampton would not benefit. I guess you don’t have many deer where you hunt. I’m glad to see every one of the vermin taken out. I’ve finally talked the wife into letting me get rid of a few around the house. Bastards are hell on a garden.

I don’t hunt for Antlers, I hunt for meat, fun and to save some farmers money. I’ve had my fill of nice racks.

I kind of like the Brown it’s down thing, if the herd is healthy. Don’t judge other hunters unless you know all the details.

Counted 26, 14, and then a group of 18 this morning headed to the shop. S.C. is deer heavy. How else do you explain such a long deer season and so many still around?

On the trophy rack thing, just think about little league football. Only the winners need a trophy. Work hard and be dedicated and you just may get one.

As far as hope still left? That’s a good one! Deer populations have skyrocketed over the last 30-40 years. They are quick breeders. What we need to do is kill every scrub and little doe so only the good genetics are out there. Pass a law that you can’t kill a 10pt or bigger for a couple of years. :sunglasses:

Nice Bucks Beaglewoman!!! Maybe Bolbie is right, y’all do need a managment program!! You need to invite me out to manage a few of those nice bucks for you!!!:sunglasses:
