This month’s Meet and Fish is going to be postponed! As a lot of you already know the Superbowl is the 1st Sunday in February and like most of you I would like to be able to watch it. We will meet up on February 10th instead. There are a few more details to work out but hopefully we will be able to use the launch at Botany Bay. Thanks!
I have no real experience for this time of year in that area but as of right now that is where we are going to hold the Meet and Fish. I will know by tomorrow if we will be able to bring trailers.

So this is what the tides are going to look like for this area. I am not sure what means in relation to the fishing for Botany Bay since I have never fished there during low water. If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated. I Would like to meet at the landing at 11am to give us enough time to launch before the water gets too low.
Good news! We have approval for trailers!!! We will have to park them at the equipment barn on the right before the pond after we unload at the landing but at least they are going to be able to use them. How all will make this month? It’s a beautiful place!
Hey guys, if you have access to one, bring a kid! Seriously, one seventeen year old or younger per 2 adults, and you can fish the pond. Pretty ridiculous fish in the pond, but you MUST FISH WITH A MINOR.
If you don’t have one, you might be able to borrow a kid from the side of the road!
I was in Edisto this weekend and put my kayak in at Botany Bay - It was very windy so not a great day for fishing. I did manage to score one trout. The place looks very fishy though, lots of oyster rakes. I was told by the guys who live at the house with the dock that the best place to fish was past the white house on the left near all of the oyster rakes. They also said near the sandbar right where you put in at.
Hey y’all I’m new, just signed up but I’ve been reading on here at work for a number of years. I read an article about kayak fishing Botany Bay in sc sportsmen a while back and it looks like a blast. I will try to dip my kayak in too if the weather looks reasonable. Been meanin to fish here for years. If anyone has a tandem they can borrow my 6 y/o.
Probably wont make Sunday do to having to be somewhere that night but will probably fish there on Saturday. This time of year I like to ride the tide out towards the N Edisto River some nice deep holes as you get closer to the main river about 3-4 miles from landing. Plenty of creek mouths and flats along the way as well.
