Menhaden

Any seen around Hilton Head yet?

Didn’t see any menhaden, but couldn’t keep greenies off a sabiki rig.

All things being equal, I would rather be on the water.

Thanks, Im thinking of a near shore reef trip Saturday if things will lay down a bit.

We went out Saturday and were able to find some pogies about 3 miles off of Dafuskie. Very good size for this time of year.

plenty off HHI… went to the Ross Saturday and had no problem finding them right off the beach

Plenty of greenies on the rips as well, caught 3-4 a drop on Wednesday

Thanks for the recon!

Where were you finding the greenies on the sibiki?

I have been finding them by the Parris Island rip and up at the bridge, but early in the mornings

The were in the rips, hard up against the ledge, generally less than 10 feet of water

Honestly don’t remember the size exactly, but it was a medium size hook. white feather.

Yup I cant tell you the size sabiki i was using, but it was a small hook with white feathers that got em for me too. They were in shallower water near the rip, but mid way out the broad river pier about 6-8 under the surface near the pillions

We are headed out Thursday and Friday. We leave around sunrise out of Bluffton. What the HEK VHF 16/68 probably bottom bumping in 100-150ft. Any menhaden sightings? Haig point? South beach? In the creeks? Out by the cans? Obviously the storm has thrown everything upside down but anyone out there today or tomorrow willing to share what they see would be appreciated.
Thanks

We netted plenty of haden on the broad river side of HH in 4’ of water last week at daylight.
