Are these teams really that good or is all the hype simply a result of the 2-3 years of starvation for their schools’ and conferences’ fans to now be gorging themselves with attention even after losses.
How does a team go from literal CRAP to propelling anyone who beats them directly into the top 5 or 10 only a year later?
Sorry, I’m not buying either one. Who has Michigan or Florida beaten this year?
Florida’s best?
… beating Ole Miss, who lost to an unranked team…
?
I agree. Of the two, I’m more likely buying Michigan. Hoke recruited really well, so it at least seems possible that a top tier coach could come in and make them good very quickly, since he theoretically has the horses that the last guy just didn’t know what to do with. I don’t really agree with that, but it is at least a plausible explanation.

But I’m with you, I’m selling both.
Michigan’s on the way up for sure. I am not sure about Florida yet. I just don’t think either are anywhere near what people are making them out to be right now.
Michigan was well deserved, Harbaugh has them playing very well and other than a screwed up punt, they win that game.
UF will lose a few more without Grier but, they are definitely on the way up. I’d say they’ll win the East, lose to FSU and in the SECCG to LSU or Bama.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Dead on.
When Bama or LSU beats the other by 14 and then that winner beats UF by 45 points in Atlanta, it will be epically spectacular.
We will have no choice but to agree that the mighty SEC champion must surpass several undefeated teams and be placed into the college football playoff. If you don’t agree, then you’re just a hater.
Michigan playing well on defense against a bunch of run-first offenses doesn’t mean as much to me I guess…
I agree that both programs are on the way up, though.
Man are you already starting the crying at the half way mark in the season. There is a lot of football left to play. Gonna have to start referring to ACC as “All Crying Conference”.
I guess I just don’t understand why SOME of you Clemson guys are not happy. Your receivers look like you pulled them all off of the track team and they can catch. The speed they showed on the field the other night was impressive, the defense is way better than I thought they would be and are solid, you have one of the best quarterbacks in the country and a kid paying left tackle that will be a first round draft pick one day and all you do is complain about the SEC all the time, like you have been shafted out of something by and SEC personally. I could care less if an SEC team is in the playoff or not and I am certainly not going to sit around and complain about a hypothetical that has not happened yet. Let the season play out then decide if you think some other undefeated team was robbed. We have a long way to go with some tough games ahead for some teams that are undefeated. So I guess I am just a hater because no I don’t agree with you. From what I saw Saturday, Florida’s defense if very fast and will give just about any team in the country fits. Michigan also looks pretty good, but I am not sure either of them are complete teams just yet, but we still have a lot of football ahead of us.
