On a last minute call from Blanding to see if I wanted to join them today on the surf, we decided to head out early ? 730am and fish the daylight hours at our new favorite spot.
Got there, and setup, and I put out a ray that I had left over from the other day on the Mak 50 and Blanding and Spencer and Frank all put on snapper heads that Blanding had left over from a bottom fishing trip.
Few short runs here and there on the snapper, and nothing on the ray.
Blanding ends up losing a monster on the Everoll that was out with half a sharp nose. Pulled a long slow drag at 40, and ended up straightening out a 500 lb coastlock. Lesson learned, no more snap swivels. Guessing a huge tiger.
Anyhow, I struck out on the Mak ? helped out landing some bait though and taking some awesome pics once again!
