Long Enuff, 2 other buddies (Brad and Heath) and I set out on the not so slick pond to find some fishies. It was a slow wet ride out to say the least, but we had a great time anyway. We started in ~130’ and had a fish on in no time that ran pretty good before spitting the hook. We worked out from there heading toward EB to an area that we had a lot of action last week. We found plenty of fliers and the fish were there also, but just not as strong as last week as far as action. We did manage, after losing a few and having a few knockdowns, to bring home 14 decent phins. No real bruisers, but decent. I think our biggest may have been around 20#. We also caught 2 cudas, and our buddy Heath landed his first sail.
He fought it great and was a happy camper! Then a little later, Brad fought a real screamer for a while before it got within 50’ of the boat and show itself to us before letting go.
It was a real nice hoo that was longer than I am tall. That would have been a real nice topper to the box, but that’s fishing. We’ll just have to get him next time after he has grown some more! ![]()
All in all, with the weather and fishing on a small boat in those not so great conditions, we had a great day on the water!! The only bad thing about the trip yesterday was that my dumb self left the fighting belts in the garage. [:0]
The young bucks handled the rods well anyway. I wonder if they noticed that they got to reel in most of the fish? ![]()
I imagine they have a sore spot(s) to remind them of the trip…
The ride back in was great, except for the last 55 or so miles… ![]()

We didn’t get to take a lot of pics, but I know we got a pic or two of Heath and his first sail…![]()
It was nice to chat with Major League out there! I think that they had a decent day. They said that they had a long ride back, so I hope they made it back safely!
