MOJO 7/17/15

Well done too you sir!!

saw two sailfish cruising the surface but couldn’t get close enough to get them on film

no catching on the radio or in sight with the few other boats we saw all day either

It most definitely had been far too long my friend! Glad to see we can still load the boat down! Very fun trip and glad I was able to make it with you and John!

Some nice fish and beautiful equipment on that boat. Hard find those avets anymore :frowning:

Awesome job man, I see a lot of empty handed reports, Y’all put the smackdown. I know I’ll have some chicken wings next time. MoJo looks fantastic!! Souther fried fish with southern fried chicken marinating in their guts. Woohaaa!

Nice report! Awesome gag!

Good to see the MOJO out and doing well.
Real clean running too.
Jr. looks comfortable behind the wheel, time to buy yourself a beanbag.

I recognize that one dude from Berkeley, nice haul

hell of a gag! nice work

Nice fish!

I’ve caught an undersized gag or 2 on chicken wings before way down south…guess the further south you go, the more they like their bait fried.

What’s up, Circle Hook  Long time no see/talk!

That SAFMC fishery regs app is extremely good, let me tell ya. (NOT)

Phone App:

Sounds reasonable to me^

And then we have the reality of ridiculous fisheries management thanks to ridiculous kill-mom-and-pop-commercial-fishermen-at-all-costs lobbying and legislation passed in 2006, which has backfired on recreational fishermen like a bad politically incorrect joke at a political convention…

SAFMC website:

Recreational:
CLOSED June 10, 2015. See Fishery Bulletin
When the fishery is open - NEW Regulations - effective March 30, 2015:
New Bag Limit: One (1) fish per VESSEL per DAY (when the fishery is open; fishery is currently closed).
New Season:
May through August - fishery is open to harvest with a bag limit of one fish per VESSEL per day from May through August;
September through April - fishery closed to recreational harvest.

New 2015 recreational Annual Catch Limit: 17,791-lbs (whole weight)

Apparently, the ACL went from 111,000lbs to a little under 18,000 with the stroke of a pen.

Put another one in the column of NO MORE FISHING SEASON.

What happened to all the play by play and picks of the blues? Nice haul, and even nicer boat.

Hahaha, the app definitely says it is both open and closed. It’s definitely closed. Nice.

Do not tell fish stories where the people know you; but particularly, don’t tell them where they know the fish.

Depending on whether check app or website you can find different answers, sero.nmfs.noaa.gov says closed I guess…

Nice.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Nice Fish!

Very nice, Phin, love the lights in the wash, and a Suzuk’ 300, awesome.

Saw someone else has a Suzuk’ 250, on the posts.

I have owned 2 Suzuk’s, loved them both, how do you like yours?

“The big one’s still swimming, let’s go.”

I love mine so far. Mines a 2008 250, seems pretty economical. Only trip offshore was right around 2.6 mpg hand calculated. I’m fixing to link it to my Simrad, this way I can monitor fuel burn and engine parameters. Can’t get the analog tach to work, so rpm’s are by ear. I think she can be more economical.
