Beautiful! That’s got to be such a great feeling. Congrats!

I’m almost sad knowing that this thread will come to a close.

I would like to say a true congratulations on completing a monumental task.
I truly do not know any other person that would have been able or willing to complete such a task, myself included.
Your wife is amazing to have supported you through this. I wish you many years of enjoyment. you have earned it.
as always, if you ever need anything…

Man, that thing turned out incredible!!! I’ve followed along from the beginning here and THT. I can’t even imagine the sense of accomplishment you have now, even with all the challenges and setbacks and straight up bull-mess you pushed on thru and still knocked it out of the park.

By far my favorite build thread, thanks for taking us along for the ride!!

Phin, This has been a cool ride! I have checked for updates almost every day! It has to be very rewarding to start a project like this and finish with results that were only thoughts in the beginning! Congrats on the build and good luck with your new boat! Hope you enjoy it!

Now what are we going to find to check out daily??

Phin,

The project has been epic. Congratulations!

What might be most amazing to me is that you made substantial structural, layout, and engine changes to the hull and it appears she is floating exactly as she should. I can’t imagine it was possible to do all the math to be sure that stuff would work out right. That?s some kind of voodoo, there.

I second the compliments to the wife.

And, CharlestonFishing.com will be somewhat less interesting without the expectation of epic-Phin-boat-build updates.

Beautiful girl.

Simply wonderful…all the way around. Love all of the rod holders. I may have missed it, but do the rod holders have drains on them? If so, where to you have them draining to?

This kind of thread makes me want to get the epoxy back out!

They have threads in the bottom if you wanted to put hose fittings in. They are all open and drain into the compartments I added inside the gunnels since I had to replace all the rotten core in those areas anyway. The compartments all drain back to the bilge. Where there’s no compartments- outboard of the forward seating in the bow- you don’t see any rod holders. Drainage not being present or easily created there is the reason no rod holders are in those areas.

She show is purdy. That is definitely something to be preod of. How well did the Line-X clean up?

Tile-X sprayed on and then rinsed off is the ticket. It’s like cleaning up a marine cooler, for lack of a better explanation.

They are shooting some newer formulations now that act a little more like waxed gelcoat and need a deck brush or pressurized wash down to blast them off.

I KNOW IT WAS A MAJOR ORDEAL, BUT THAT BOAT LOOKS AS GOOD OR BETTER THAN ANYTHING ON THE MARKET, PLUS ITS CUSTOM BUILT FOR THE WAY YOU FISH.
ALL I CAN SAY IS WOW…

IF I RESPOND IN ALL CAPS, ITS NOT ON PURPOSE, AND I AM NOT YELLING

I agree. I hope mine turns out half as nice as this one. If you have a lead on a console like that, let me know. I have the same top as you.
