The pictured gaff attempt was a whiff so I had to pass the rod and gaff him. I gaff him and his tail nearly takes my face of similar to the way he whipped it in the picture but way closer and it may have brushed me a little. I let go of the gaff and we get him back dock side with the gaff hang in and I grab him by the holes on his head and can’t lift him and another guy grabs the gaff and we get him landed. It never sat down and fought for close to 20 minutes on the drag locked down. Well over 100lbs.
Uuugggghhhh…at least it didnt sit down
Bad dude. He’s got bigger brothers hangin’ around the beach too!
I would have just cut the line once I saw what it was…no reason to risk life and limb and face for a picture on land!!
Bait for weeks. I wouldn’t of gaffed him if I wasn’t killing for a purpose.
