7/5 got out there right at slack tide, took about an hour to finally catch some mullet. I haven’t had a reason to throw a cast net since last year so I banannaed the first few and missed everything. Finally got a whole school and wet some lines. First few fish were reds, all right at or under keeper, all released. Caught a few keeper flounder after the Reds. Decided to throw some soft plastics since the bite had slacked off and hooked up with a 3.5lb flounder on my ultra light rod. Caught a few more flounder after and lost another nice one. At dead low I got into a trout bite and ended up with a few nice ones. Managed to bring home some good dinner.
7/6 got out right before high tide, it wasn’t until the tide turned going out I finally got some mullet. Finally wet the lines and caught one red and a trout. It was getting too hot for me around noon so called it a day and went home.
Going out again today in the surf for the incoming tide, I’ll write a report and post pics of everything later.
