Mt. P pier

Anybody doing any good lately on the Mt. Pleasant Pier?

I seen a Philippino man catch a sheepshead couple of weeks ago. Fishing off the right corner before it opens up.

lots of small flounder, some small trout and reds mixed in.

plenty of talk of bigger fish being caught but as far as ive seen for a few weeks its been just talk.

One baby bonnethead for me and two toadfish for my daughter today. Didn’t see anyone catching much today

Talked to my buddy who works there. Some nice sheepshead coming up. 8 pounder yesterday

A couple 7 pounders earlier this week

We saw the 8 lb. sheep. We caught nothing but pufferfish and toadfish. Not much of a return for the 200 fiddlers I caught Friday nite for bait.

Anytime you want to catch 200 fiddlers you tell me and I will meet you at the pier haha, that 8lb’r was probably caught on clams, might have to head that way one day next week and fish the incoming tide starting at the top with some mullet and minnows and work my way to the end … should catch something

Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

yeah those sheeps were caught by the usual suspects out there

should be a good time of year to pick up a nice flounder or two out there. might give it a try next week. going out of town this weekend

What is the best rig and bait to use at the pier? Fishing Sunday afternoon and hoping for reds, trout, or flounder. Thinking MM on carolina rig or shrimp or MM on a float. Any other advice? Taking 4 kids: 5,7,7,and 9 yrs old, so fishing with a float usually works best for them.

Maybe those 200 fiddlers were too salty for the fish? My sweat dripped all over them as I was catching them.:sunglasses:

Your spot on. Carolina rigs, double drop rigs, and cork’s.

ya those usual suspects i hate those guys

the guy with most rods in the water catches the most fish

yea they are jackazzez.

you boys catch em up :stuck_out_tongue:

it must suck to have it all figured out

“mr keys”

that wouldn’t be the guy that has like a thousand rods on his cart !!!

yep…there’s no way that guy can use all those rods at one time.

Yarp … but he’ll still try to use them!

I’ll attempt to catch anything with fins!
Now, where did you say you saw that mermaid …

The 1000 rod guy, isn’t worried about the small fries, he only touches his rod if the drag is peeling, sat and watched, tried to learn a few things
