I went with my dad and caught pin fish, lizard fish and a small black drum he caught pin fish and had a monster flounder (well over 20 inches it was fat with huge back straps reminded me of a halibut) got to excited and tried to lift it while I went to grab the net and his hook broke. There where 5 categories the biggest fish was 2#s and change and the 5 fish bag was 5#s. A pier local won the kayak on the raffle draw and he won the 5 fish bag also. They raffled off a lot of Yeti cups, frabil flo trolls, and $25 gift certificates to Hadderal’s Point in Mt Pleasant. All category winners won a pier cart, 48QT cooler, penn fierce rod reel combo, gear bag, yeti cup, flo troll, and gift certificate. I won a $25 gift certificate to hadderal’s and if my dad would of landed that flounder he would of won the male category for sure and possible broke the 5# pier record, the on that got away. Pier regulars said the fishing was horrible compared to usual saw a lot of small fish mainly pin fish, but whiting, rays, grunts, snapper, sea bass, puffers, dogs, lizard, black drums, trout and flounder. I didn’t see one red drum caught and only like a 8 small keeper fish. Over 70 people where in the tournament and it was 10$ to fish.
