I must ask…why pinfish?
Connor Malark
Cuz they are delicious:sunglasses:
They are my favorite cut bait for Reds; I think it holds up a little better than some others.
Haha true true…never ate them before. May have to try it out!

They should show up as the water gets warner. You will be able to catch them by the hundred on frozen shrimp everywhere once summer hits. Redfish should also show up at the pier once summer arrives but I’havent fished from there frequently. I recommend you look up jigging Jerry on YouTube…he’s the master of Mt. Pleasant pier and has some great vidoeos on catching trout, reds, flounder, and sheepshead from the pier.

Haha! I was kidding about eating them, although I have seen people keeping them by the dozen for stew or something… I’m very familiar with jiggin’ Jerry. He is the undisputed king of that spot and really helpful. Can’t wait for summer. Thanks for the reply,

When I was a young’un in Florida my father took my brother and I fishing to the boat docks in Daytona where a lot of fish cleaning went on. We fished off the end of the dock and caught some of what my father called “Sailorman’s Choice”. To me they looked like large pin fish. Those fish had fattened up on all the fish scraps from the docks.
My father painstakingly fileted those fish, and hands down they were some of the best tasting fish I ever had. A lot of work, but the reward is there.
