Anyone know the best color artificial to fish Mt. Pleasant pier this time of year? I’ve thrown only DOA shrimp of different colors with a slow retrieve and a sharp jerk when it hits bottom. Just looking for some advice to learn and better my fishing.
Festivus swimming trout trick did good the last time I was there.
Vudu Shrimp in a variety of colors work (chartreuse, natural, root beer), but the pearl with chartreuse tail is one of the most popular. There are a few spots thick with rebar so you may want to test the waters with something cheaper before making a $4 donation.
Also Zman slim swims (opening night), Zman golden boy, and Zman new penny have been catching trout.
Bite seems the best during low, incoming tide. Good luck!
Chris,
The tackle shop appreciates donations …

Go with paddletails. Try the root beer with chartreuse tails or morning glory with chartreuse tails. Also the Chicken off the Chain has worked well too.
