Made that whole “article”thing up. You have the superior program at this point and for three forseeable future. Enjoy the ride. So far I think the players Muschamp is bringing in are pretty good. Top 20class right now with potential to squeak into the top 15. I will take that where this program is right now.

Are you referring to me? If I’m wrong why are the coots looking for an OC?
History isn’t everything in football but USCjr has been a doormat for most of it’s existence while it competes against several schools with good history, bigger fan bases, and the constant pumping of ESPN. Even when it was painfully obvious that McElwain was not a good enough coach to compete with top 10 teams he was pumped up enough to get an extension 3 months before he was fired. Butch Jones and UT “were back” if you listened to ESPN in August when most competent CFB fans knew he wouldn’t be capable of staying in the top 25 despite a weak schedule. Luckily for UF, and to some degree UT, it’s a matter of WHEN not IF they will be good again. It’s relatively easy for them to recruit and eventually Jims and Joes will win games by default. It’s not impossible for USCjr to win the East or even Saban’s SEC but it will not do so by copying Bama. USCjr needs a Lamar Jackson to land in their lap (they just recruited a running QB - Joyner), an OC that can make the most out of him, and a little luck. Now even if they find a Lamar Jackson beating Clemson and Bama 1 week apart is (**() near impossible if they remain at the levels they have been the last few years.
Salty, Pruit has potential but if you want to mix it up in the SEC you need an offensive guy. Most offen

I know that and expect them to settle into 3rd in the East. 3rd in the East is a very mediocre position.

I guess USC lives in saltydog’s head rent free the way Clemson lives in Fritz’s head rent free.
Pretty sad considering he’s a fan of a team that’s in the CFP and could possibly play for back-to-back NT’s. But you stay on top of everything you believe USC is doing wrong, salty. I’m sure a national powerhouse college team or maybe even an NFL will be knocking down you door to tap into you scouting and evaluation prowess. Don’t forget about us little people when they come calling.

How so? McIlwain and Jones recruited well. Mullen and Pruitt inherit programs with better talent on their rosters now than SC has after a few years with Muschamp. It’s not hard to project, especially in UF’s case, that they get things going again under Mullen. He’s proven he can win by taking Miss St. and turning it around. I think he does that in short order in Gainesville.
Pruitt is a wild card though. If he can coach or learned anything from Saban, the Vols should be much better next season.
Muschamp is a helluva DC but he has yet to prove he’s a good HC. He’s yet to prove he learned anything from his stint in Florida as well. Personally, I hope SC keeps him forever, I like watching Clemson beat the **** out of the chickens year in and year out. Reading comments on how Dabo is scared of Muschamp because they’re on the rise and Clemson is on the decline is comical. 90-17 in the last 8 quarters with 5 coming and the gap growing makes me smile every day. Being a final 4 team the third year in a row doesn’t hurt either.
If that’s rent free, they can stay as long as they like. Being happy makes life better.

I always hear that but have yet to see it. Is it the same logic that a team would hire Lane Kiffin to get his dad Monty??
Thanks for fortifying, salty.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn’t go so far as to call a dog filthy but they’re definitely dirty. But, a dog’s got personality. Personality goes a long way.

8-4 and 2nd in the east to a team playing for a shot at the title. Projected to finish with only 3 wins by some and end up in a New Years day bowl game, Fire Muschamp.
After being released, a lot of fish die, but a lot of them live also.

With the way their weak schedule set up, they should have had a Georgiaesque type year. What teams did they beat with a decent record beside State?
I say the line stats on Michigan the other day. Much tighter than I thought. They also called on SC to cover. I’ve thought all along Michigan would beat them around pretty good.
quote:They didn't lose any games they were favored to win by 24. Can't help how your competition finishes the season. Syracuse lost 5 in a row after beating the World champions and gave up 65 points to Wake Forest in that stretch.
