You can do that stump
Just keep it in the icebox
When I do that
I’ll stab each piece of okra a couple times before putting it in the juice
Thanks sman! Got em soaking since Friday. Gonna try em when I get home
You’ll get better results from the “pickling” if you boil the pickle juice, and pour it over the okra in the jar.
Make sure the jar is hot, to prevent it from breaking due to the heat of the brine.
They are just called CELEBRATION SQUASH when I order them. They grow with lots of different colorings. The ladies love em. About as big as your fist and one plant produces between 4-6 of them. I think there’s about 20 in the garden right now ready to go.
I’m going to pick next weekend.
So says the enterweb:
Celebration squash is a winter squash with a light yellow color, orange sutures, and flecking. It’s a hybrid squash with a sweet taste and fine-grained flesh.
-
Appearance: Celebration squash has light yellow flesh, orange sutures, and attractive flecking.
-
Taste: Celebration squash has a sweet taste and is higher in sugar than traditional acorns.
I’m fishing down east around Cape lookout
The county is a mess, roads out and homes destroyed.
I’m on high ground so my house is ok, but the pics the neighbors sent show my half mile drive/road pretty much washed out too
I’ll know more tomorrow when I get home.
Thanks for asking
Looks like you beat Bambi to them this year, lol
Meanwhile just north of you the last bushel of the butter beans, some cauliflower, and the bitter end of corn pluckings the deer haven’t half eaten yet
Turned out great! Did the fork trick you mentioned, thanks!
