Took the family to the beach Sunday afternoon and decided to fish a little while we were there. Used the smaller setup with sand fleas and caught a nice spot on the first cast. After some time with not much luck I switched to cut shrimp and landed 5 more spot and a whiting. My 3 year old even landed a spot (well he reeled it in by himself haha). All were caught in the breakers. Cut one of the spot in half and used the head on a bigger setup. Waded out to the sand bar and chucked as far as I could. Within 5 minutes I hooked something BIG, double over the rod and took me for a ride. The barrel swivel on the rig blew up and line went slack. Maybe shark, big blue, big red? All in the heart of Myrtle Beach. Fun day with the family.

Sorry no pictures. I live on 48 ave n, so I usually fish within two ave’s either direction. Depending how crowded the beach is.
